Terms of Use

Plain-language usage terms for the current free editor.

Using MathTexLab

MathTexLab is provided as a free browser-based tool for creating and exporting mathematical expressions. No account is required. You are responsible for the source you enter and for checking that you have permission to use material you copy into the editor.

Check the result

The editor typesets the expression you provide; it does not prove a formula, check mathematical correctness or guarantee compatibility with another application. Review the preview and exported file before using them in teaching, research or other work.

Keep a copy of important work

Local saving is a convenience and may be unavailable or cleared by your browser. Keep your own copy of source and exported files. The site does not promise permanent storage, uninterrupted availability or support for commands outside the documented MathJax packages.

Responsible use and changes

Use the site lawfully and avoid attempts to disrupt it or interfere with other users. Features and these usage terms may change as the editor develops. Questions about the service can be sent to the Contact page.

These terms are an initial, unreviewed statement of intended use. They are not presented as legally reviewed or as a jurisdiction-specific legal agreement.
